Cost is $78.00 based on a minimum of 36 paying passengers.
For Thrivent members is $65.

Some trip details:

Depart at 9:30 a.m., lunch stop, then Penn Shore Winery for tasting and tour (if available); stop at Pulako’s Chocolates, then

Station Dinner Theater for “The Carol Burnett Show”, (Carol won’t be there), back to starting point at 9:00 p.m.

Reservations must be made by June 26.

SAFE MOTHERHOOD HATS

Thank you to everyone (from POP and St. John, and friends of both) who knitted or crocheted little hats for newborns. We sent 92 hats to IMA for their Safe Motherhood Kits. The hat basket is empty so if you can knit or crochet for this program just put your hats in the basket on the outreach table in the fellowship hall.

SUPPLY AND INTERIM PASTOR UPDATES

There will be two supply pastors during the weeks prior to the interim pastor beginning at Prince of Peace. On Sunday, April 29^th, Pastor Paul Stork will be here. He lives in Lyndhurst. On the following three Sunday, May 6^th, May 13^th, and May 20^th, Pastor John Zimmann will travel from Salem to be with us.

Beginning May 29^th, Pastor Michelle Nickodemus, will begin as our Interim Pastor. She likes to be called Pastor Michelle. She lives in Canal Fulton. She will actually begin her time with us on Tuesday, May22nd. Her tentative weekly schedule will be:

Sunday – here all day

Monday – day off

Tuesday – POPLC

Wednesday – SJLC

Thursday – POPLC

Friday – work from home, available by phone (to save mileage)

Saturday – available if needed

Pastor Michelle does have email but not on her phone. Her cell number is 330-936-6101.There is more information about her @ www.lutherans online.com/stjohncanalfulton.

Although this plan may change, Pastor Michelle will be at either POPLC or STLC each Sunday (rotating). Hopefully a supply pastor would serve the other church.

There will be further updates as needed here, in the bulletin, and posted on the Council bulletin board.

MEETING WITH THE BISHOP

On Monday, April 23, 2012, POPLC Council members and Committee chairs along with the PMT and SJLC Council will have a meeting with Bishop Elizabeth Eaton. This will begin the dialogue which will lead to the development of a Call Committee so that the process of searching for a new pastor can begin. Updates regarding this meeting and subsequent proceedings will be made available to the congregations.

BIKE/HIKE

Everyone is invited to join us Saturday, May 19 from 2-4 p.m. We will meet at the parking lot on Hyde-Oakfield Rd. in Bristolville and hike or bike as far as you want. St. John folks will be at the pavilion in the parking lot distributing snacks and beverages to everyone passing by. The rain date for his event will be on Sunday, May 20, at the same time (2-4 p.m.). CHURCH YARD SALE will be August 2, 3, and 4. A temple talk and a sign-up sheet will come later but please put those dates on your calendar now. Outreach uses proceeds from the sale to fund a variety of projects.

SEWING MARATHON

ATTENTION -We are in the planning stages for a sewing marathon in August to put together school kits for LWR. Two other churches have inquired about joining us for an all day session with lunch included. If you can cut fabric or use a sewing machine and want to help see Jean Bolinger at the above contacts.
